Free Dove

Most of us women shave under our arms everyday. It's such a sensitive area that all of this razor torture can leave our skin irritated, dry and very uncomfortable. I've found that the kind of deodorant I use has a huge impact on the health of your pits, hehe. Okay, back to grown up world. Dove is offering free samples on a few of their products from their "pro-age" line. Guess what! Deodorant is one of them :) Or if you don't need deodorant, but everyone needs deodorant so just forget i said that. If you think you don't need deodorant, you do! So get some for free!

A Treat For A Non-Smoker

When you're a smoker, you stink. Up until 3 days ago I was a smoker. I hated that my hair and clothes always smelled like stale cigarettes. So, as a gift to myself on my 3rd day as a non-smoker I'm going to buy some amazing smelling shampoos, conditioners, body washes, and lotions.

Here's what's on my "to get" list:

I've always wanted the amber romance shampoo and conditioner from Victoria's Secret, but I hesitated to spend the extra money on it. After all, what was the point? I'd just cover that lovely fragrance up with smoke anyway! Now I can spend that extra money guilt free!
As for my bath and body works selection, I love the smell of lily! If I have another daughter, I'll name her Lily!
Scent has a huge impact on your mood, which is why aromatherapy is such a popular spa treatment today! Your mood has a huge impact on the way the rest of the world sees you. You can instantly pump up your beauty, simply by taking a whiff :).

I Have A Dream...

That one day I'll color my hair and the color it turns out to be, will match the color that is on the box!

I picked up some Garnier Fructise hair color the other day. A nice medium shade of auburn, to brighten up my brassy brown locks. Well, I've colored and while my hair hasn't fully dried yet, can you tell me why my roots are bright orange?? It doesn't make a lot of sense to me.

I guess even just a little red is dangerous!

The Best Drug Store Hair Care

When I worked in a ritzy salon, I purchased all of those expensive hair products for half off! It was great; I treated myself to the best in shampoo, conditioner and styling products. Not to mention, all of my color treatments and hair care was free! All I had to pay for was the actually color, which was $10 very well spent! Now that I'm a stay at home mother, those expensive shampoo's and salon color treatments are a thing of my past. I have to settle for what's in the drugstore.

When John Frieda came out with their new line of "Brilliant" Blonde, Brunette, and Red lines I was a bit doubtful. I have very thick curly hair and John Frieda's Frizz Ease was a huge disapointment! I went ahead and picked up the Brilliant Brunette conditioner, despite my doubts. And it's a good thing too! John Frieda's Brilliant Brunette shampoo and conditioner ROCK! My hair felt like pure silk. So if you're wondering what the absolute best drugstore products are...John Frieda Brilliant Brunette!

Bare Minerals vs. Sheer Minerals

There's no doubt that i.d. Bare Minerals will give you great results. It's covers almost flawlessly! Before i.d. Bare Minerals I'd never seen my skin look so great. It had even been clearer all together since I started using their product. However, at $20 for a small container, we're talking a lot of money for this magic powder. Not to mention the "special brushes" that are more like magic wands. They cost a pretty penny as well.

Sadly, when I ran out of my precious i.d. make-up, I could not afford to restock it. Reluctantly I went to the drugstore to find a more affordable subsitute. I found Neutrogena's product, Sheer Minerals. I was a bit weary of this built in brush contraption at first, but decided to go ahead and buy it anyway.

I honestly found Neutrogena's Sheer Minerals to work just as well as her more expensive opponent! At $13, it's a steal! I was right about the built in brush. Those things never seem to work for me, they always get clogged. So, I simply removed the case of powder from the brush head and dumped it into a gladware container. I use my own large make-up brush to apply and it looks really great! Not to mention that it lasts forever!

I conclude that, while I do love bare minerals, neutrogena's sheer minerals is the second runner up- if not equal in quality!
